Mary Fraser of Fraser HR
|
After
several years of working in HR departments for many of the large
blue chip organisations, an opportunity arose for me to set up my
own HR business.
However instead of concentrating on the larger companies, my
choice was to offer tailored HR solutions for small to medium sized
companies and so in July 2002, Fraser HR was born.
Fraser HR provides an
effective people management service.
I tend to work with Companies unable to afford a full-time HR
department and need help with setting up HR systems, training and
development of employees and those seeking guidance on employment
legislation. I can and do provide a professional and tailored HR
solution. As well as wearing The HR hat, I’m really interested in personal development and I love working with people who share this interest. As a joint venture with cultural coach and trainer Ute Wieczorek-King, I hold regular workshops for Women in Business in the Berkshire area. I also meet regularly with a group of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) practitioners and we are currently working on an exciting project for our own personal development. I enjoy new learning
experiences particularly when it takes me outside my comfort zone. I’m
more than happy to apply this principle to interests and hobbies too! My
personal challenges this year include learning to horse ride, completing
an Integrated Arts therapy course and planning my sunset ride in Who
said you couldn’t teach old dog new tricks?

Mary's motto – very simply – GO FOR IT! |

I started my first business in 1992- uwk languages, a corporate language training provider. Although my professional background is in education, I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy making a difference! By the late nineties my business had not only grown steadily, but as a result of working in a niche market with large IT/ Telecoms companies, uwk languages was offering innovative training services and had become very successful. When it was affected
by the fallout from the dot.com crash, during which many employees lost their
jobs and employers reduced their training budgets, I diversified and
also invested into my own personal and
professional development. I subsequently founded ‘uwk coaching’ in
2002 and was one of the
first coaches in the East Berkshire I now run uwk, a consultancy which combines the services of my previous businesses. I also founded a voluntary charity group, and can imagine moving completely into the charitable sector at some point in the future. However at present I
love my work as an executive, business & career coach, whether I’m
helping women break through the glass ceiling, change careers, adjust to
change or start and grow their own businesses. I specialise in the areas of change, stress, time
management, performance and work life balance. I very much enjoy
the training side of my work and in particular collaborating with Mary
Fraser! On a personal note I am the mother of three children, (one of whom has yet to fly the nest), and the partner of an airline captain who experienced burn-out 11 years ago and has more recently recovered from cancer. I have first hand experience of the stress caused by major change and traumatic events, and now help other women under pressure manage the challenge of multitasking and juggling a job or business with lots of other commitments. My personal time is
very special to me, especially spending quality time with family and
using 'down' time to recharge my batteries. My future plans involve

Ute's Success Tip: Success may depend on how well we manage pressure and change. Looking for new doors to open and taking one step at a time helps anyone exceed their expectations. |
